| Sundance owners: Water Over The Gate? |
Hello all Sundance owners. When only your circulation pump is running (no jets, etc), do you get water coming over your weir gate?
I just came back from my Sundance dealer picking up some items and I noticed the latest Optima that is filled on display. It has a Waterfall and ozonator. I noticed that with only the circ pump running (along with the ozonator and waterfall), this Optima draws down the gate a bit and water "rushes" lightly over it.
At home, I cleaned my 2002 Optima filter today and notice that with the circ pump running, it doesn't seem to draw water over the gate. There are plenty of ways water gets into the filter housing but it does not seem to be via the top of the gate.
Is this Normal??? Never noticed and can't remember...
Thanks.

Not an owner, just a tech, however I can tell you I've yet to ever see a 98 watt Laing circ pump draw water over the top of one of those gargantuan filter weirs. Not gonna happen.
Best advice I can give is don't compare apples to oranges - especially when you don't know what the oranges have in them. |

I'm not an owner either but are you sure it didn't have a low-speed pump on? Many new waterfalls run off the low speed on one of the jet pumps. |

The new Optimas have two pumps (actually three with the circ pump) but both are now just single speed. (unlike the older ones). So, yup, just the circ pump going.
My Sundance tech confirms the newer models have a seriously larger circ pump compared to the older models.
