should we keep it, replace or rebuild?
Should we keep it,fix it or trash it. My wife and I were given an 8 foot sundance Spa, circa 1990. One lounger seat with a large bench seat, approx 20 jets. The person who gave it to us is a plumber and said the pump started whining so they just bought a new tub. The pump is a Sta Rite Dura Glas H/L speed and a quick search shows it to cost about 600 to 900.00 to replace. After sitting for 4 years under a tarp it also has some surface cracks in the bench seating area but the lounger seat as well as the rest of the tub looks good. ( I believe the cracks are superficial) What would you do? I have the tub on a trailer and would like to diagnose any potential problems before building the deck for it. As far as capability I am a carpenter and back yard auto mechanic. Thanks! Donny
