In the purest of technical senses 1 hp = 746 watts.
amps times volts = watts / 746 = hp
11amps times 230volts = 3.39hp
But that just tells you the TRUE hp of the motor....... They could have put a 5 hp impeller on it and be calling it a 5 hp pump (welcome to marketing).

i was really hoping this was a 3 hp. I'm lookin everywhere and can't find a 3hp 2 speed for under 200 with the wet end.

so are u saying this is more than likely a 3 hp motor??
