1994 Khyber - wasn't working, now I fried the curciut board

Hi - I have a 1994 Tiger River Khyber. It has run great for all these years and now it's being flakey, after about 30 seconds it was tripping GFCI after turning the heater up. Heater felt like it was starting to heat. It didn't seem like the circ pump was running. I replaced it (SilentFlo 5000). Then when I turned it on, the red light on the board came on but it was making the weirdest electrical sounds (does that make sense??, can't describe it) anyway the circ pump would come on, but the jets and light wouldn't, then they would, then not and then I fried the board. A copper line, right in line with where the circ pump plugs in sparked and melted. It's a Watkins spa control 33277 REV B.
I know I didn't do a great job on this description, sorry. I guess I'll need to replace the board, but after that I don't know. I don't want to put in a new board and fry it to.
Maybe should just replace all with a spa pack???
Oh yea, the directions in the new pump say that it doesn't matter which wire you put in which recepticle (black and white wire)...hope that is true.

Any thoughts will be appreciated.

That doesn't sound too good!

There is a good chance that the original problem of the GFCI tripping was caused by the heater. You could check to see if the heater is good with a meter.

What melted? Was it the heater plug that burned where it connects to the box? Follow it back from the control box to the component that it gives power to.

Good luck.

Thanks for replying. Nope, no plug burned, it is a copper ribbon, line, whatever on the circuit board...directly in line with the circ pump plug. The breaker was no longer being tripped.

Don't understand the noise it was making, not mechanical noise. It was kind of a noisy hum? Jets were on circ pump was pumping, red light was on for the heater. Everything seemed good except the hum and then the spark.
Don't have a meter to check the heater, I can get one. Don't know how to use one tho and of course there is the problem of no control board.
Any ideas on the noise....it is hard to describe.

Original problem may have been the flow switch. Momentarily, try jumping it.
Wiring diagram should have been with the circ pump. Wires should match those from the capacitor.
It's savable.
You may want to inquire with your local HS dealer to see if they have someone who's knowledgable with that 13 year old TigerRiver.
