| Brett Aqualine 501T: Stuck On |
I have an old hot tub with a Brett Aqualine 501T control. I just replaced all the jets because of leaking and re-started up. It has only one air button for the jets to work and one for the lights. Push the jet button once and they turn on full blast, push it again they turn on half way and push it again they turn off. My problem is, the jets are on at the half way point and now when I push the airbutton to turn them to full blast or off, it doesn't work. The pump is running and the switch sounds like it is moving, but it aint doin nuthin when you push the button. It also has 2 timers, one for the heater and one for the filter to run. Both have switches under them to overide the timers. The timer for the filter does not seem to be working, although it is turning and keeping time. Any ideas? |

Switching/Relay
Your problem is most likely one of these:
1. The air button on the top has failed.
2. Could have air leaks in the hose going to the control.
3. Air hose at the controller has become detached.
4. The momentary electrical air switch in the control is defective.
5. The main stepper relay is defective.
The image below is from the Brett Aqualine schematic which can be found here: http://www.alliedinnovations.com/pdf/W5202a.PDF
The electric air switch is this: http://spapartsnet.com/products/ELASTBS313.html
The stepper relay is:

The button... well, I'm sure you can find it.
Hope this helps and let us know. |

1. The air button on the top has failed - It's new
2. Could have air leaks in the hose going to the control - It's new
3. Air hose at the controller has become detached - checked that.
Thanks for the other info, I will check that now. If the momentary switch is bad, is it just not moving to make the circuit, or is it electrically related? |

Yep.
It's electrically related. It's basically nothing more than a rubber bellows thing that moves a small microswitch when the air pressure goes into it. Then what that does is complete the circuit to that real big stepper relay so it'll change gears... " title="Wink" /> (eg, step through to the next sequence). |
