Chattering contactor

After running our spa the pump contactor will chatter after turning the pump off. I have noticed that the longer the pump runtime the more chattering is experienced. I am sure that this is not good for the contactor and is no doubt burning the points down and is probably not good for the pump motor either. I have also noticed that the tygon tubing going to the controller from the air button is a little tight although not pinched off. Is it possible that this bend is a large enough restriction to cause a problem? Any advice would be appreciated.
