| Wiring schematics for older Hercules spa |
I bought a used hot tub that (of course) is not working properly. I called a
local pool and spa company to repair it and was told that "someone has worked
on this before and messed up the wiring." He said I would have to locate a
guide that shows how this particular hot tub is to be wired before he can do
anything. Do you have a wiring guide for the model listed below that I can
purchase, or, do you know where I can locate one? Thank you so much for any
assistance you can give me.

Hello,
I am a service tech and am working on a old Hercules unit in a Pool-A-Rama spa. For some reason the high speed pump isnt working, it just stays on low speed throughout the 4 pushes of the function button. I tryed to trace the pump wires, but the wiring in that thing is a rats nest. So I'm trying to find a wiring schematic also. I have the Model #, PGC08JC06-109, and looked at the ones at the above link, but am not for sure which one it might be. And I cant find any info for Hercules Product, Inc anywhere. Are they still in business?? Is there somewhere else I can get the correct schematic for this model number?? Thanks in advance. |

Bsherman,
You may have a faulty cam switch. There is a cam that rotates when you press on the air button, which is connected to a diaphram on the cam switch to cycle it. If it doesn't rotate, you won't get your different functions. |

It has 1 air button that controls the 4 function switch. 1 2-speed pump, 1 blower, no ozone. In the 1st step of the 4 function is low speed pump, 2nd should be hi speed pump, 3rd would be hi speed pump and blower, and 4th would be lo speed pump or no pump and blower on. Now when I push the button its lo speed pump in 1st and 2nd position, and lo speed pump and blower in 3rd and 4th position.
so what do ya think now??
Is Hercules outta business??
Thanks, |

Camswitch is my first thought still... it has 3 momentary contact switches that the cam presses on, and it is possible that the low speed switch is stuck in the closed position, which would override the high speed all together.
I attached the two most common diagrams for the camswitch, perhaps that can help you figure it out. |
