New Motor problem HELP!!!!!!!!
I just purchased a new motor and pump (2-hp 230V 2-speed)for my spa, and installed it. Both motor say Century Lasar pool/spa and both are (2-hp 230V 2-speed). I connected the new same as old

Problem: New motor comes on but trips breaker after a while and when I turn it on high, it turns off like an off switch. I reconnected my old motor and everthing works fine except for the bad bearing (the reason I replace the motor and pump in the first place)
Do I have a bad motor or a wiring problem?

Sorry, and this kinda stinks but it sounds like you got a bad motor. Be absolutely certain that your voltage/amperage ratings are somewhat close for both motors.
