| 2002 Tiger River Spas Bengal M Heater Not Working |
I bought a home with a 2002 Tiger River Spa Bengal M Hot Tub. The hot tub was sitting empty when I moved into the home. I don't know how long it was sitting empty so I filled it up and ran spa flush through the system as instructed by the local dealer. I then drained the tub, cleaned the filter and tub. I then refilled the tub and added the appropriate chemicals and tried to get the water to warm up. It is wired as a plug in so either the jets run or the heater runs but they both do not run at the same time. When the jets are off, I can see the water circulating but the water does not warm up. I have removed the filter and pressed the reset on the heater but the water coming from the drain/heater does not warm at all. Any suggestions what could be cause the water to not heat up is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Mike |

Re: 2002 Tiger River Spas Bengal M Heater Not Working
Ok, so we do have flow from the circ pump.
Are either of your lights on the topside control flashing?
Sometimes you need to push the heater reset button with a screwdriver to reset it. It will feel like it clicks if it was tripped.
It could also be a bad heater board. This is the circuit board that has the terminal block for your power wires. Look between the relays on the board above the power wires - do you see any burn marks or smell any burning? If so, the board is bad, needs replacing, and that should fix the heat problem. |

Re: 2002 Tiger River Spas Bengal M Heater Not Working
Thanks for your response. I do have flow from the circulation pump. No lights are flashing on the control panel. The red power light is on steady and if I lower the temperature setting to around 84 the green ready light will come on. I do not see any burn marks or smell any burning on the circuit board. |

Re: 2002 Tiger River Spas Bengal M Heater Not Working
There are 3 LED lights on the main circuit board. The middle one should be lit red. This says the board is sending power to the heater board. You can test voltage at the heater wires to see if the heater board is sending power to the heater. If you have power going to the heater it is either the reset button on the heater or a bad heater. |
