| Circ pump altternative |
Got an old Hot Springs, tired of replacing the circ pump every 18 months, is there a safe alternative reliable pump that is direct drive instead of the magnet drive??
Whats the point of the magnet drive?
I dont get it, I have 10 HP circ pumps in my bldg that run 24/7 for 20-25 years with zero problems, and this stupid $160 1/10 HP pump lasts about 18 months and gets noisey and lockes up.
No amount of taking it apart and cleaning will help. |

Re: Circ pump altternative
Magnet drives eliminate a "shaft seal".
The ball and socket impeller is scaring due to scale, dry run, or precipitants in the water.
Grundfos if it will retro.

Re: Circ pump altternative
Is it a shaft drive, like normal water pumps? |

Re: Circ pump altternative
Yes, but the pump is not repairable once the shaft seal begins leaking. |
