Circulation Pump TOO LOUD and turns on WAY TOO MUCH :x

Hello All - glad I found this forum! I am going crazy listening to the LOUD circulation pumps that turn on every 20 minutes (it runs continuously for 2 hrs each day, but then runs every 20 minutes). I live in a condo building in the city and it is on the roof - right above our bedroom!! This is a recent development and I need to figure out what is wrong so we can fix it (and get some sleep!) We have a Rocky Mountain Hot Tub and I think it is about 3 yrs. old. Isn't there a timer that can be set for when the pumps run?? Why are they so loud?? If there is a timer, where is it located? Of course our "Condo Association President" lost the Owner's Manual so I am hoping for some help on this forum... <img src=" title="Shocked" /> Thanks for your help!!!

Unfortunatly I can't help you with regards to how to set the timer of the pump, but generally you should be able to set the tub in either economy or standard mode (some tubs list this as summer/winter). In economy (or summer) mode, the pump only runs on the timer. In standard (or winter) mode, it runs when ever the spa needs heat. Sounds like this is the current setting for you.

Now if the pump is making that much of a racket, it may be time to plan for the eventual failure of that pump. Generally speaking, you should barely hear the circ pump, if at all.

If noise has always been an issue..you're very patient waiting three years. Why not install 3 inches of rigid insulation under the spa? If the noise is a recent problem....that pump may need a new motor.
