| 2000 HOTSPRING SOVERIGN AuX CONTROL PROBLEM |
I have a Sovereign I purchased new and had installed August 2000. I've had a few minor problems over the years, but in general it's run great and I've been very happy with it.
This past summer there were some power outages due to electrical storms, and after one of them I noticed the tub temperature had shot way up above 110 degrees. I'd had a problem years ago like that, and I believe the high limit thermostat had to be replaced. This time around I powered the spa down (both breakers on sub panel off) and brought it back up, but still had the high heat problem. I switched the heater breaker off, but left the circulation pump breaker on, and left it like that for several weeks, and after that when I flipped the heater breaker back on it brought the spa back up to the set temp. Not sure what's going on exactly, but it's working for now. (Knock wood!)
That's really just all background for my post. The problem I'm having now is that the interior control panel has no effect. I can still control jets and light from the larger control panel on the front outside of the spa, but the interior panel is dead. I can't recall specifics, but it seems over the years from time to time the interior panel would go dead, but after resetting power it would come back. I can't recall if I did anything else to help that along...seems like there's a black recessed reset button in the interior cabinet where the heater is I may have pushed, but it's been so long since I did that I can't remember what that was for exactly.
Short of a service call anyone have any tips of what I might try to get the interior control panel working?
Thanks in advance. |

Re: 2000 HOTSPRING SOVERIGN AuX CONTROL PROBLEM
I would disconnect/reconnect the spa side control at the board and then turn the tub back on. Often those controls get moisture inside them and start to act irrationally.
As for your heater issue, sounds like either a faulty temp sensor or a relay that's getting stuck. |

Re: 2000 HOTSPRING SOVERIGN AuX CONTROL PROBLEM
I also have two control panels on my Morgan Spa. When both are plugged in, neither will work. When I unplug the main one, the accessory side control panel will work. The spa tech told me that the switches under the buttons died and I needed to buy a new control panel...$575!!! |

" title="Shocked" /> Please do not give anyone $575 for a topside control unless it is diamond studded with gold buttons. Maybe he is talking about the whole control pack??

Thanks for the feedback. I'll give it a try.
