| 2004 Catalina CAT8000, Safety Fault error message |
Catalina CAT8000, 2004
230v, Balboa EL800 Controller
Tub has been working fine since new. Now getting error message "Safety Fault". Heater will restart by pressing any control button. During heating cycle I can turn on/off heater by adjusting set temperature with out setting error message. Problem only occurrs when heater cycles automatically. |

Catalina has become a dealer issue only due to their proprietary programming schemes that Balboa has created for them. Unless someone familiar with Catalina spas chimes in, I don't think you'll get a reasonable answer anytime soon.
I wish there was a better way to deal with this outside of replacing the controller with something that makes sense, and is serviceable without the need of proprietary service. |

What would you recommend as a replacement for this proprietary controller? |
