I have a late 90's Jacuzzi echo/essence Z115/315; model H230000 which runs 230V, on one circuit from a disconnect. The control panel is the Balboa H136000 (H31100 circuit boad) and the topside control is the H193000 (knob style heat adjustment). The Filter/Heater Pump is a 2-speed.
The problem began shortly after connecting power to the spa. At first, after hooking up the power, the spa ran fine. The pump/motor ran in both low and high speeds, lights worked, spa began to heat up shortly after...went to bed that night and got up the next morning.
To my surprise, the pump/motor wasn't circulating anymore and didn't respond to the topside control button. The spa was hot and it seemed the heater was working. I checked the disconnect to see if it had tripped, but it did not. I turned off the power, waited a few seconds, and then turned back on. Right off the bat, I heard a click in the control box (found out later that it was the high limit relay #3 that was clicking). I also noticed that the "heating" LED on the topside control was blinking. I tried pushing the pump control button and nothing happened..other than the light switching on for about 10 seconds, then I heard a relay trip, and the light went off. I was unable to turn it on again and repeat without cutting the power and restarting.
I was advised to isolate the motor to determine if it was the problem. I have since tested it with an isolated power source and determined that the motor works fine. My thought was to try the Hi-limit sensor to see if it was bad. I would assume that if the circuit board was bad, then the light probably wouldn't have worked at all.
Any advice, feedback, thoughts, etc. would be apprectiated. " title="Very Happy" /> " title="Very Happy" /> Thanks!! |
