| Len Gordon Digital Topside Control Problem |
First, thanks for the site and the help.
Recently, I ordered a new 3 button Len Gordon digital topside because the old one didn't work properly -- the temp controls didn't work, but it always heated to 102 degrees (and displayed the temp properly) -- so it was acceptable. Then, it quit working completely (almost -- the LED for the main jets came on, and the pushbuttons continued to work of course). I received the new one today, and you guessed it -- same problem. It doesn't display the temp, the heater doesn't come on (although the element is fine -- if I manually close the relay, it comes on) So, is this a transformer problem? (the control is 12VDC I believe) Can I test whether that's the issue? Both pumps work (pushbuttons are functional), but there is no temp display, or heat. I would really appreciate some help...
Thanks!

I'm not sure about the 12VDC -- not sure which circuits run 12VDC, if any. It appears that it runs on 120VAC.
Anyone have any ideas? How does the control get its power? It has 5 wires going into it: black, yellow, green, blue, white, and the orange is cut and not used. |

Hmm. I'm starting to get nervous. Do you think both controls might be bad? |

Okay, problem solved, sort of. I finally got my voltmeter to work and learned that no power was coming to the control. Followed it back to the culprit -- a Honeywell micro switch connected to the air button for AUX/Low Speed+Heat.
Now, where can I get the switch? I did a Google search of the number on the switch and found one site that sells to the end consumer, but it's not in stock. |
