| Sundance 600 series topside control panel not working |
I have a 1993 sundance 600 series spa and the topside control panel is not working at all and we tried to see if the cleaning cycles would work on their own and wouldn't. The circuit board, heater, and pump has all been replaced within the last year. We had an electrician look at it and there is juice on the curcuit board and all fuses are fine. He said he didn't see any curcuits blown on the board. Also, he said there was juice at the connector for the topside control panel.
Before we spend the money (we don't have) for a tech to come out, could it be anything other than then the topside control panel? I read that it could be the high limit sensor tripping it. If that is so, would there still be electricity running thru the board?
I am wondering if we should just save the money on a tech coming and replace the control panel ourselves. |

UPDATE:
We ended up calling out a spa tech to look at it and we are glad we did. It ended up being the transformer that is bolted to the back of the main box. It was one place that we didn't look. The tech unscrewed the silver box that holds the circuit board and everything and pulled it off. There is a transformer on the back of it. He replaced it ($50 part) and everything works great. I think it is the only part on the whole thing that wasn't the original. Apparently it wasn't giving off the appropriate amount of electricity and that caused the top side control panel not to work. |
