| Sundance heating problems |
I just inherited a 1998 Sundance supra lounger 605. The previous owner, my father-in-law, just put in a new heater about 6 months ago. I set up the tub at my place, put in a new breaker box with 240v 50 amp breaker for the tub, filled it up and turned it on. Before we moved the tub everything worked except that it would not get very hot. When I filled it up the temp was about 72 degrees 5 days ago. now its up to 95 degrees. The heat light stays on unless I turn the heat control knob all the way down. the flow light stays on all the time because the sensor leaked and I took it out and jumped the wires. In standard mode the low speed pump runs continuously and the high speed runs until it times out. for the last 36 hours or so when I push the jets button the temp rises about 7 or 8 tenths of a degree, checked with a digital thermo probe inserted in one of the jets. Also I don't seem to ever get voltage across the two hot terminals of the heater. I guess I just need to know what to check next.
On another note I think I might need to install a ground rod as the left neon light is not lit up and I have the white and ground tied together like the rest of the house. Any advice is greatly appreciated, Matthew. |
