topside controllers

I have a sundance 400 series topside that I am not sure works. A replacement is over 250 dollars. Do I have to use the exact replacement model or can any controller be used as long as the connector is modified. Perhaps I can use a Sundance 600 controller??? I looked everywhere for info on this but nothing...any ideas?

Is there any way to bypass the topside controls to check the equipment and see if the problems lie in the topside or the main board. My topside controls blower, jets, mode, light, and temperature. Is there any way I can jumper or trigger the wires on the topside cable to activate various controls?

Sorry but no.

It operates directly from the controller with software control signals.

No hard wire anything.
