| 2002 Sundance Cameo, Flo and Flo 2 error codes even tho pumps seem fine. |
Hi,
I have a 2002 Sundance Cameo, I believe that the model designation is 850. It is hooked to a dedicated 220V 60 amp line (at least that's what I paid for). It has a 1 speed jet pump, a 2 speed filtered jet pump and a third small circulation pump.
I suddenly have a problem with the FLO error message. It starts with a blinking "FLO" and ends up with a solid "FLO" and the controls being locked up. I have reset the spa (several times) and now I have a FLO2 error. I have removed the filters and the error still occurs. All of the pumps seem to have plenty of pressure and the flow sensor switch (it's transparent) appears to be being pegged against it's stop when the pump is running. The heater appears to work properly as well.
I can reset the spa by turning off the power for an hour or so and the spa will run all its functions for about one 20 minute cycle before the FLO error happens again. This is a problem that occured immediately after I replaced a dirty micro-filtration filter (one of those damned toilet-paper roll sized filters for the circulation pump). I have since drained and refilled the spa to no effect.
So, what should I test? As I said, all the pumps appear to be working fine. As for the circulation pump, I am judging that it is ok by the fact that it had enough suction to clamp my hand to the intake when I even got close to covering it.
I have a VOM meter so I can do some electrical tests.
Suggestions? |

You need to be sure the plug for the flow switch didn't get accidentally jerked out of it's socket on the circuit board.
Possibly even remove and reinstall it just to be sure. |

Thanks Pageup
Thanks for the suggestion on reseating the flow switch's electrical connection. I will give that a try.
Now, when I repower the spa after the power has been off for days it wakes up with the Flo2 error. Not being able to reset the spa is a new development. I will go jiggle some wires and see what happens! |

Reseated Flow switch plug, no effect
Hi,
I removed and reseated the Flow switch connector on the circuit board to no effect (actually all the sensors are on the same locking connector).
As I mentioned above, the spa will no longer reset. However, I found that by jostling the flow switch in the flexible line I was able to make the solid "FLO2" message toggle between Flo and "COOL" error messages. I am leaving the system on to see if the need to heat overrides the Flo error.
So, any suggestions as to how to reset the spa so I can do some tests? Any suggestions of other tests that I can do?
Thanks |
