| FLO error on Sundance Cameo |
Have a sundance cameo with the sentry 850 controller. I am getting a FLO error. Filter is good, jets work great, FLO error comes on when jets are off or when running jets2. FLO error goes away running jets1 and water is heating. circulation pump is hot to touch. Any ideas or suggestions. Thanks. |

circ pump is probably bad, with all jets off, check to see if the circ pump is running when the spa calls for heat. If not, pump probably shot. |

circ pump does not work when jets1 are off but does when jets1 is on. Guess that means a new one? |

circ pump is a totally separate circuit than the jet pump. The flow switch may be reading flow from the jet pump, and that could be why you think the circ pump is working with the jet pump. Verify if you have power at the circ pump when the spa calls for heat. If so, and the pump isn't turning, replace pump. |

Charger your analysis is 100% right, but your explanation may be a little confusing to the uninitiated.
The circ pump electrical circuit is indeed separate, but the plumbing circuit should be indirectly interfaced with pump 1 (with small bypass hoses, or whatever the industry engineers want to call them).
So when main jet pump works, it's pumping water thru the circ pump 'circuit' - (thru the dead circ pump and piping - and triggering the flow switch).
Yeah. Circ pump is dead.
I'll bet it's one of those red and black pos jobs.

Yup, I should have specified that it is a completely different ELECTRICAL circuit even though it does share common ties in the plumbing as pump 1.
Thanks! |

I have a 1998 Capri Sundance spa and recently encountered the same FLO warning on the control panel. I found the circulation pump motor starting capacitor to be defective. Replaced the capacitor and all works as advertised.
Your circuation pump may be hot to touch because of the hot water or because of pump overheating but not running due to defective capicitor.
The circulation pump on my spa is manufactured by:
Laing Thermotech, Inc.

Chula Vista, CA 91911 USA

Hope this helps.

Here we go again. Replaced the circ pump last sept and all has been fine. Am now getting the same problem again. How easy is it to replace the circulation pump motor starting capacitor? Is it something I or my husband can do? Also is there some other issue causing this?
Thanks in advance. |

Sorry to hear that you've encounted the problem again. Your new circulation pump should have included a new starting capacitor as it is physically mounted on or inside the pump housing. It's possible that a new capacitor was not included when you purchased your replacement pump. There are different physical characteristics. The silver colored cylindrical metal can type capacitor is stud mounted on the outside of the pump housing. The rectangular phenolic capacitor is mounted inside the black junction box on top of the pump. Both have quick disconnect connectors and are easily changed.
Another cause can be an intermittent or defective flow switch. Also easily replaced.
Do you have an owners manual? If not, one is available for download at Sundance Spas.
Please keep me posted. |
