Flashing Flow on Sundance Spa

I have a ~10 year old Sundance Corum spa (800 series). After a water change and the additon of a calcium precipitate (water turned very cloudy) I started receiving FLO errors. The tech came out and replaced the flow switch. Everything worked OK for a few days and then we started getting the flashing FLOW/TEMP. Tech came out and looked around. Thought that the lines were clogged. We replaced the filter.

If the Jet/Whirlpool lever is in Jet mode then at the low speed pump the FLOW/TEMP will flash. In high speed mode it is OK. When we move the lever to Whirlpool then the FLO/TEMP is cleared even at low speed. Of course it will not heat when the FLO/TEMP is flashing.

The tech thought that the lines were clogged. I checked the line between the two divererters and it is clear. We can feel good pressure coming from the jets when in 2nd stage. We have noticed that the little jet by the light where the heated water comes out does not seem as powerful as it used to be.

Any ideas of what the problem could be? Is it possible all the small hoses have gotten clogged over the years by calcium? Maybe just the heater is clogged? It does seem to heat OK.

I would be looking at your circulation pump. Although they can weaken over time, I would doubt it is because of calcium buildup. The 800 series that I have does not use either of the two main pumps for the heater. They use a separate, almost tiny, pump just for that sole purpose. Check to see if you have this, and make sure it is operating well.

The modal we have has a two stage pump. The first stage circulates the water and comes on via a timer (up to 4 time periods per day). The second stage boost the pressure/flow and is used for the hard jet action. Even at the first stage you can feel a little pressure on the jets.

That is the filter cycle, not heating cycle. Although you can set it so it only heats during that timeframe, the Sundance Century 800 uses a circulation pump. There are 2 jet icons on the panel, the first one is a 2 stage, like you said, and the other is the single high speed. In effect, it's so you have low, medium, and high. Keep looking, follow the hose from the bottom of the heater and you should follow it to the circulation pump.
