| 1997 Vita Spa Ambiance model GFCI Trips when I turn on heat |
Newbie here this is my first hot tub so i have been doing as mucg research as i can to get some background knowledge of these things. I just picked up this hot tub for $200. Owner had it since 1997 has all the records and receipts. I have not hooked it up yet but he showed me what it was doing when i picked it up since the tub was still hooked up. Tub powers on fine but as soon as you turn the thermostat up to where the heat kicks in it trips the GFCI. In 2007 he replaced G-Flo Heater Element
What do you guys think the problem could be?
Air blower was not hooked up so i need to pick up a new one of those and i found out when i got home the ozone Converter bulb was shattered. |

Re: 1997 Vita Spa Ambiance model GFCI Trips when I turn on heat
So i tested the Heating Element tonight, test it on an ohm meter on lowest setting. Had element unhooked from all wires and sitting on the carpet, i am getting 10.8-10.9 From what i have read online this seems normal and means the element is fine. Is this correct. The heater element is a Flo-thur, 1.375kw/5.5kw 120/240v
When i say the gfci is tripping as soon as you turn the heat on i am talking about the one that is a dead front on my spa pack. So i was looking today at the dead front gfci and noticed this look at the black spot on the gfci
Please someone help me out here |
