First post is not accessible--HELP! GFI trips when in use

I have used this forum a lot and it has really helped me before but this time I am stumped. I have a 1994 Sundance Cameo, two speed pump, heater, blower, and light (no ozone). It has an SSPA -1 spa pack which is two years old, and is run on 220. About two weeks ago, I went out and the display was dead, checked GFI and it was tripped. I reset it and the tub resumed normal operation so I thought maybe, MAYBE somehow it was OK.
Later that night, I got in and it tripped after about 5 minutes, I reset it again and the display read "HL". I shut it down overnight, reset it again and it worked fine. Here's the thing.....that is the pattern, every time. It works fine with no one in it, both speeds, heater, blower, everything. Someone gets in, it trips, comes back on but says "HL", leave it off for a bit and it comes back on and works normally.

Oh yeah, and when the display reads "HL" the heater still works but (obviously) I can no longer control the temperature, it shows it as I adjust the set point but goes back to the "HL" display if you stop adjusting it. Anyone have any ideas?......one more thing, the seal on the topside was leaking but is dry now, could this happen from the topside being compromised? Any help is appreciated, Thanks.
