| GFCI Trips as soon as i push any button other than start... |
hello spa people, i just bought a Sundance spa (2nd hand) from a guy (who runs a spa servicing business) and have had an electrician come around and wire it in. i then filled it up and once it was filled to just below the headrests (as i read you should) i put the chemicals in, etc and decided to fire her up. well. this was nice, but then when i pushed the button to make pump 2 go, all power went off and the safety trip thing (gfci) tripped. so i waited and reset it and then tried another button - the air mode one - and pushed that and same thing. the spa has been heating up, so this leads me to think the heating element is okay? is that right? i dont know... i dont have a clue; thats why i am here! i have read a lot of posts that say it is most likely the heating element but the spa is heating? i do accept i may be speaking nonsense here, so please help me! the electrician is coming around again tomorrow, to isolate the issue, but from what i have read on here it seems there is something wrong with the spa that is not a simple heating element? simple answer i suppose is to call the guy i bought it from, but i wanted to get the electricians verdict before doing so. can someone (anyone!!) please offer some advice as to what could be causing this?
oh yeh, another thing, the water level dipped down about 100 mm (5 inches?!) since i filled it. is this much water in the piping? there is no water on the ground anywhere....
thanks very much jt |

Re: GFCI Trips as soon as i push any button other than start...
I had the same problem but with another brand of tub. What I did is unhook the hot wire from the heater and try it then.If it works you know its your heater. That what was shutting mine off |
