GFCI trips when I power up.
I have an older Vita spa that is a LC500 Series Essence model. Here is the problem. I had a hilo warning on the display. At times if I power it down it resets itself. So I tripped the circuit breaker. Left it off for 15 to 20 min. and turned it back on. After 11 seconds the circuit breaker tripped and would not stay on. I disconnected the heater and it stayed on. Is the heater shot or could it be something else. As info I replaced the Hi-limit sensor back in 2008. Thanks in advance for your response.

Re: GFCI trips when I power up.
a dirty filter would give you a hi-li error; heater will get so hot that will burn the pressure switch (hi-li sensor). so you provably will have to change heater and pressure switch. but try changing the presure switch firstand remove the filter and that might just fix the problem.
REMEMBER TO CLEAN YOUR FILTERS ONCE A WEEK.
