| JACUZZI Z110 tripping GFCI |
Hello,
I have a Jacuzzi Z110, 115 V. from Home Depot that I bought in 2000. I replaced the original motor after 6 years. The replacement motor had been in and working fine for 3 years when the GFCI would trip immediately after plugging in unit. I replaced the motor and replaced seals and impeller on J-pump. The new motor/pump worked fine for awhile, until my wife stepped on the cord and it popped the GFCI. It would not start at all after resetting. We discovered the our dog had chewed the cord and my wife had shorted the line when she stepped on it.
The motor now runs fine on low speed and the heater functions properly. When I run it on high speed, about 5-10 minutes later the GFCI trips. When I reset the GFCI, the code "FL" appears on the top end and the spa will not start. Hours later it starts in low speed and the heater again works. When I run it on high speed, it will again run for about 5 to 10 minutes then the GFCI trips again with the same symptoms as before.
I checked the flow switch since the FL (not FLO) code shows, but it seems to be fine. I am worried that the new motor died and I would hate to have to spend another 300 bucks to replace.
Any suggestions for further troubleshooting? |
