| Jetsetter tripping 20A breaker instantly. |
2000 Hot Springs Jetsetter IQ2000 board Silent Flo 5000 circulation pump Watkins No Fault heater
My hot tub tripped the 20A breaker yesterday. 2 years ago i replaced the heater. Last year I replaced the circulation pump. Have noticed the tub was making a humming noise all the time. Assume it was the pump. Other than the hum, it was running fine. Yesterday the 20A breaker tripped. I disconnected the pump motor leads from the board and the breaker still tripped. It trips within 1 second of breakering it in. I hear a couple of clicks and then it trips. Since it still does it with the pump disconnected, I am assuming the pump is ok. I also have been keeping the 30A breaker off while I do this so I think I can assume it is not an issue with the heater. Can anyone give me any ideas or checks so i can narrow down the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

Re: Jetsetter tripping 20A breaker instantly.
Try replacing the 20 Amp breaker.
They do go bad. |

Re: Jetsetter tripping 20A breaker instantly.
Unplug the circ pump, ozone if you have it, and the light. This way you eliminate those before replacing anything. If still trips unhook the 20 amp wires from the spa, if it still trips unhook the wires from the breaker. If it still trips it is a bad breaker. If it trips unhooked from spa but not when unhooked from breaker it is something with the wires.
Good Luck |
