over fill of tub

I have a 2004 Elite Spa Platinum Series Spa. This past weekend I was adding some water to the tub and got sidetracked, when I came to check on it, the water was running over the top of the tub. Now, the GFCI is tripped and it won't reset. Did the over flow cause the tub to blow the breakers or get the wiring just get wet and needs to dry out for the GFCI to reset properly?

Thanks

with a little luck, all you have to do is wait for it to dry out. Was there obvious water ingress into the equipment bay or spapack?

overfill of tub

The equipment behind the access door was not soaked in water the water got underneath by running down the the canister that the speakers push down into. And some of the water was standing underneath the bottoen the the tub inside the cabinet.

Thanks

GFCI trips immediately

I tried the tub tonite, it had a couple of days to dry out. The GFCI still trips immediately after I switch it to on. What do think I could try next? Do I need to call somebody locally to look for an electrical short or something else that got wet inside the tub? Maybe something happen to the motors in side the shell? It is a 2005 Elite Spa Platinum Series Tub.

Thanks

If equipped, might want to disonnect the air blower- water may have backed up into it- will take more than a day or two for that to dry out...

It wil probably show me in the manual how to do this correct? Air in this line would cause the GFCI to trip immediately? So, I would disconnect this line and then let it dry out for a couple of days before I try the tub again? Is there a reset anywhere on the tub? Could the motors have gotten wet and they need to be rest somehow?

Thanks for your help.

There are no individual resets on the motors or blower. Also, the manual won't mention this situation. Disconnect the blower by removing the power plug from the control cabinet. Give the blower a couple more days to dry and reconnect. If it still tripps the breaker, you will need to replace the blower. You can use the same techniques to test the motors as well. Testing the heater element is a little trickier, but definentally possible. You would test by disconnecting both of the wires going to the element inside the housing. Tape them off to make sure they don't come in contact with anything. Test the tub, and see if it works ok with the heater disconnected.

I went out last night and tried unplugging cords to see what was tripping the GFCI, and it was the ozonator. And at first the hearter was not working, but when I checked it the morning, the temperature was at 79 degress and the heater must have benn working. Is it going to hurt the tub if the ozonator is not plugged in? What exactly does it do? Thanks for all of your help.

Ozonators provide a small amount of additional sanitization when the tub is not in use. Many tubs don't even have ozonators. You can definentally run without one if you choose to. Chances are if the ozonator is over 5 years old, it wasn't working anyway. they have a lifespan of around 5 years.
