| Hot tub Noob- What do I have?? |
" title="Shocked" /> Hello all, I'm a noobie!!! this is my first post, so go easy on me!!!!
ok
well a few things first, I dont know what kind of Spa I got,
it has a plate on it that says Acura Spa Systems- Air Boost, but other then that I'm in the dark....
it has a replaced board in it Balboa electronics and controls
I need to buy head rests and dont know where? I also need some jets and a larger back massager(main one in center of back.)
Some jets dont work and how to I trouble shoot them, I cleared them for debris
I dont know why but some jets work and some dont, I have been trying to take the jets out and clean them, not all come out some just spin, others do not turn. it does not have any holes in the shell, the air bubbles come through the spa jets/venturi,
the controls dont seem to operate all jets, some fire on jet, some fire on aux, when I hit the blower button, air not only comes out of the jets, but it comes out of the air screws on the top of the shell. Why??? Some water blows out too, but then it's just air.
I'll post better pics of the controls when I get em' in my computer.
Thanks

That's a very nice spa of 1990's vintage; (possibly a Hawkeye?).
I'm guessing it was a backyard or other manufacturer that had contracted with Acura spa systems for the equipment (but afaik, Hawkeye never used Acura stuff), then when the controller went out, it was replaced with a generic Balboa Instruments control system.
Names are not important in this biz. It matters not who made it, when, or how, but the fact that you have it and that it is working or not.
I mean, you could like have a Ford in your driveway, with a Chevy engine, seats from an Acura, air conditioning from a Toyota... but you like it and it works.... what do you call it?
A car that gets you there.
This tub uses pretty much generic components (most of the jets are Waterway PolyJets http://spapartsnet.com/Jets/Waterway-Jets ) like everything else out there on the market. If you want pillows, you're looking for generic stuff.. like this: http://spapartsnet.com/Pillows (my own site plug, but who cares).
Thing is, you got one hell of a great tub. Replacement cost is in excess of $6000 if you had to do an insurance/retail purchase on it.
This should provide some help. Call us if you need more. |
