NO CURRENT GETTING TO THE TUB
WE PURCHASED A USED HIGHLIFE HOT TUB MODEL K AND WE HAD AN ELECTRICIAN PIPE IN A 220 BOX. HE PUT IN A 20 & 30 IN THE CONTROL PANEL INSIE THE HOUSE. NOTHING HAPPENED. WE CALLED MR. SPARKY AND THEY TOLD US THAT AMPLE CURRENT WAS LEAVING THE PANEL BOX TO THE HOT TUB, BUT THERE WAS NOT AMPLE CURRENT GOING DIRECTLY TO THE
HOT TUB. WHAT DO YOU THINK COULD BE THE PROBLEM? WE TRUST THE COUPLE THAT WE BOUGHT IT FROM AND THEY SAID THAT IT WAS WORKING FINE LAST YEAR BEFORE THEY DRAINED IT. AND THE GREEN LIGHT ON THE PANEL DID COME
ON WHILE IT WAS AT THEIR HOUSE. NO LIGHT OR ANYTHNG COMES ON NOW.
PLEASE HELP
THANKS

Re: NO CURRENT GETTING TO THE TUB
First thing is what is the serial nober of the spa. Serial number is located in the equpment/ pump area. It will start with a "K."
Next, the spa should be wired to a subpanel housing the 220v- 20 and 30 amp gfci breakers. This subpanel should be within site of the spa, no closer than 5 feet and no further than 50 feet from the spa. The subpanel is then fed from your house panel via 50amp non-gfci breaker.
From the 20 amp gfci breaker, a neutral wire is supposed to be brought to the spa because it has a 110v circuit in it. Generally, the square wiring box in the spa has a faceplate with a diagram on it. The neutral wire is the most common mistake.
