Need help with control problem, or thermostat problem, I really don't know.

I have an old spa that came with the house we bought a few years ago. All I know is what the control pad says - California Cooperage. Last winter it started acting strange. The temperature stayed at a constant 100 degress no matter what I set the dial at. Also, the button for the air injector started operating the jets... and the light button operates the light and the air injectors. We made due with it like that last winter and let it sit all summer. Now winter's coming again and I'd like to fix it right.

Do I just need to replace the control pad (the part with the buttons) or is it a problem with the circuit board?

Also, is the Balboa three button with dial control pad the same as mine? I'm including a picture of each.

Thanks,
Beth.

Yes that's definitely the best place to start. And yes that's the control panel replacement for it.

Thanks for responding so quickly!

Because I don't want to put a whole lot of money into this hot tub, do you think I have a good chance that the control panel is the only problem?

Also, do you have any guess as to how old this hot tub might be?

Thanks again,
Beth.

It could always be the circuit board, but the topside is the best place to start. So plan on circuit board replacement, if not now, but later on. I'd guess around 1992 for yours.
