| New (to me) Hot Tub |
I just bought a used, 2006 United Spas Mfg. Chinook hot tub and I have a few questions. Here is what it has:
7' X 7' X 36", approx. 400 gallons
Seats 6, 5 seats & 1 lounge
ACC SmarTouch Digital 1000 control pack
Flo-master XP2e pump
29 Waterway jets
Del Ozone CDS-16 Ozone generator
Cover
Steps
Here are my questions:
1. I paid $2000, sound about right?
2. Are the components of good quality?
3. Is United Spas a reputable manufacturer?
4. Chlorine, Bromine, or Baqua?
5. Here is underside of tub, showing insulation:
Should I insulate skirting and seal bottom?
6. Does it need to be perfectly level?
7. Spa looks just like Sun West Chinook spa ( http://www.sunwestspamfg.com/caribbean/chinook.htm ), does Sun West make tubs for United Spas, or is it a knockoff of their design?
Here are a few more pics, for those who may be interested:
Thanks for answering these questions,

I have no problems with that deal.
It sounds about right - you got a decent tub there. Only thing, plan on replacing the heater element within the year $39.99. Easy enough to do. |

Ok, thanks. Do they go bad every couple of years? Should I install a more reliable heater? |

ha.
no.
besides, there is nothing available that's more reliable than that one.
If you don't take care of your water quality you will need to replace your heater element more often though. |
