Please help a newbie spa owner get started!

Hello all, I am glad to have found this great forum as a resource to help with hot tubs. I am hoping you guys can help me answer some very basic newbie questions. I just bought a house with this spa. First off, I am trying to identify my model. I have a Leisure Bay Spa, but cannot determine what model/type it is. The previous owners did not leave an owners manual. Here are some pictures: http://www.darwinstudios.com/spa/DSC00704.jpg http://www.darwinstudios.com/spa/DSC00705.JPG http://www.darwinstudios.com/spa/DSC00708.JPG http://www.darwinstudios.com/spa/DSC00710.JPG http://www.darwinstudios.com/spa/DSC00711.JPG My First question is how do I properly fill the hot tub? I figured out how to drain it. And am going to clean the inside. Someone told me to just use baking soda and water. Does this sound correct? Ok, now when it is clean, I need to fill it. I had heard that I should remove the filter and put the hose down in the hole so that water gets into the plumbing system. However, I am having trouble removing the filter cover. Here is a picture of the cover. Can someone tell me how to remove it? I don't want to break it! http://www.darwinstudios.com/spa/DSC00712.jpg Is there anything special I need to know when filling it up? Do the pumps need to be primed or anything? If so, how do you do that? Thank you in advance for any help. I am sure I will have more questions soon! Sean

In most cases you won't need to prime a thing, since the pumps are the lowest point on the spa and should self fill. To remove the filter skimmer basket, rotate the basket 1/4 turn counter clockwise and lift. Generally you only need to fill just by placing the hose in the tub, anywhere.

Not sure on the model however.

Cleaning can be done by many methods. If you have a water scale buildup, use vinegar. Baking soda is something I wouldn't use since if not completely rinsed out it can throw off the ph balance once the tub is filled. I use windex actually.
