Solar Conversion Ideas
after a few months of high power bills I am forced to either not use my tub or heat the water using other means. I'm thinking that adding a solar heat collector will help cut the power bill for hopefully 6 months out of the year.
Does anyone know of any links that will help one to self educate themselves on what is involved etc.
Or perhap someone here has already done such a conversion, if so I'd like to exchange ideas.
thanks

Re: Solar Conversion Ideas
Good idea was thinking to add one eventually myself.
I had a solar heating system for my swimming pool and it worked great.
I was thinking of getting a small pump (very little kWh or hp) and then sticking a hose into the tub, which will circulate the water through the solar heating panel. Water will be returned (of course " title="Laughing" /> )with another hose, which will be returned to the tub.
On second thought I am not sure it will be worthwhile - I calculated that I am using about 15kWh/day more than what I used before I got my tub. Extra cost/day = $ 1.20,-. Heck - I am paying $5,- for a cold one at my local watering hole " title="Razz" />
