| Trouble sealing Filter retaining ring |
I have a 1992 Cal Spa econo line standard hot tub. I have some serious problem trying to get my filter retaining ring to seal when I clean my filter. I have tried everything, replaced the o-ring gasket, cleaned the canister base and the retaining ring, I even got a strap wrench to help tighten it. The strap wrench is no help, I need to use a hammer and a pievce of wood to tap it tight and most of the time it still leaks and I end up having to replace the retaining ring because it gets destryoed from all the tapping. Does this have to be so hard? What am I doing wrong? Please help!!!

If you have a top side filter, check to be sure your tub has not warped around the sealing area. My tub has sagged in the middle, and brominator and the sealing ring do not tighten up as much as it used too, but it still seals. |
