| Upper water return drain and air in filter |
javascript:emoticon(' :')
Question
My daughter’s outdoor spa has a small water return outlet high up on a side wall with a 2x6 inch high plastic slotted cover. This is in addition to the large main bottom return outlet and both are joined together going to the water pump input.
The upper inlet sucks more air in than water and on low speed sounds like a real bad snoring sleeper. This is causing intermittent circulation on slow speed and air build up in the water filter every thirty minutes. The water isn’t using the entire filter if it is full of air. The filter inlet and outlet is on the bottom of the filter can. Son-in-law says the fill level for the tub is right below that opening.
I think the water level should cover the inlet. Can someone teach me something here about the purpose of that upper inlet? Happy NewYear to you all! |

The water level is too low, the "skimmer" suction should be all the way under water, so that is doesn't suck any air, on any speed. |

The water level should be at a minimum HALF WAY UP the skimmer FRAME.
OR more.
Anything less than this is inviting the problems you have.
There should be a marker (half way up) on it that says "Water Level".
All suction ports must be covered at least 125% to eliminate air entering the pump(s). |

Thank you both very much. If they want to lower the water level then I will lower the skimmer port. javascript:emoticon(' ')
