| What kind of shell is this? |
Long story short, We just moved into a house that we're leasing and it came complete with a spa shell and plumbing. Its rather old but as far as I can tell its in great shape. No cracks, warps, ect. I'm trying to get some pricing for parts because the home owner wants to get it working again and he's asked me to do the work. He's even gonna put some money into it. However the shell has no markings, plates, stickers, or anything that I can see. The only branding is in the bottom of the spa it sais "WIZ". I appoligize for not having any photographs but we just moved in and of course my wife packed so I can't find my camera HA! I will try to take a couple and get them up ASAP.
I love building things and I'm quite the DIY'er...but I'm a little stumped with this one.
Thanks in advance! |

Sorry for the delay. Moving woes....
Here are the pictures promised.

Here are my goals:
1. Identify the tub so I can get the specs.
2. Make a shopping list of needed parts.
3. Price Parts.
4. Determine if I'd be better off rebuilding or selling it and buying a new, smaller tub.
Any Help/Advice is greatly apprichated. |

Re: What kind of shell is this?
I am no expert by no means, but looking at the jets, and the metal plate on the side of the shell (it probably shows the water level mark) i believe this shell may be an older Cal Spa. Possibley in the early 90's. But keep in mind I am only guessing. If you have any of the mechanicals (pump, heater, etc.) you may be able to narrow it down by tracing the manufactures of the various items. Cal spa usually have their own names on the items. I hope this helps...good luck. |

Re: What kind of shell is this?
It shouldnt be a big deal on who the maker is. Do you have a spa pack or any of the parts to make it work? The PVC pipe will be standard. If you have to install a new pump just buy a new set up with the controls and pump the whole nine yards at least you can do it the way you wnat to do it. Good luck looks like what would be fun to do. |
