| new to hot tubs |
Hi, I just moved and inherited a hot tub with the house. It is a Pacific Marquis Simplicity Series model 41K8. It has a Hydro Quip 10Y-RCCOCAU (?), S/N 88051732, 120/240V, 17/29 or 42A controller.
I don't know much about the operation of this thing. It "appears" to be working but I'd sure like to have an owners manual for it. It has a single air button marked (I'm going from memory here as I am at work) "low pump, high pump, high pump and air"...or something to that effect. It also has another rotary knob marked "jet air". Pushing the airbutton (hard!) gets various results. Likewise turning the knob may or may not cause bubbles to start rising from the water.
I opened up the door on the side of the tub and the controller as well as the hydro air (blower?) pump were pretty rusty. I cleaned that up and found that the air pump was rusted through on the bottom and when the pump is on you can feel a slight air leak out the bottom.
Obviously the air pump will need replacement in the near future. The heater seems to work. I have the thermostat turned OFF now because with the ambient temperature in July the water gets too hot with just the cover left on.
Does anyone know where I can score a manual and or schematic for the hydro quip equipment? I'm an electrical engineer and relatively handy. I just need to know what this thing is supposed to do when operating normally. I went to the pacific marquis and hydro quip web-sites and neither had info on equipment this old. (I'm guessing it's from about 1990?)
Thanks for all your help. |

Same Jacuzzi!
I also just inherited the same Marquis Simplicity 41k8. It has a new pump, heater and lid.
Did you ever find any documentation on this hot tub? If so I would love to know more about it.
If you happened to find a manual / schematic I would be glad to pay for a copy.
Do you have any tips / tricks I should know?
Thanks!
