some wires fried in my spa pack

Everything was great and then spa stopped working, no power. I removed spa pack cover and noticed some fried, melted wires. Don't know what caused it. Obviously something overheated. I would like to fix it myself if possible. I'd like to see what you think and what parts i need. I enclosed some photos of the spa pack.

Thanks

Batty

Re: some wires fried in my spa pack

The load wire on terminal L-1 was not tightened sufficiently, and amperage picked up to compensate the loose connection. The more the amps, the more the resistance, the more the heat. I suggest replacing any oxidized wiring, point to point, and using a wire nut from the service to load. ( although I'm sure that will draw a response from some ) If not a wire nut, then a clamp terminal, or replace the terminal block all together. Make sure to check the other connections for torque. ( Remember 60HZ is 60 cycles of vibration per second.) <img src=" title="Wink" />

Re: some wires fried in my spa pack

thanks for your reply. That is a good place to start. Not all the wires look burned or melted, only a few. I will try to replace the bad ones and see what happens.

thanks
