| 98 Sovereign Leaks |
The people who gave this to me said it has a very slow leak and they thought it was around the Moto area. I filled the Moto compartment with water up to the bottom screw hole on the cover. This doesnt reach the tubing on the jet. The water level goes down from there. I noticed a counterbore on the bottom of the compartment thats either for a screw or there is a line coming in. Im guessing its a line. Could it be leaking there? ( see photo) The Secondary drain cap is also leaking a little. I switched caps with the Main and it still leaks. The Main has a shut off inside. Is there a shut odff for the secondary? There is no seal on the cap. Is there supposed to be? |

Re: 98 Sovereign Leaks
OK I figured out ( with the help of some blue food coloring) that the hole in the bottom is a drain and the water drains through the jet at the bottom of the tub. They suspected a leak in the moto area. I have to replace the moto massage jet. Should I assume its the leak I seen mentioned on this forum? Does anyone have a link to the details of how to fix this leak? I think someone said it could be fixed without removing siding. |

Re: 98 Sovereign Leaks
You can go through the side or the bottom of the spa. You'll need a new bleedline fitting(which glues into the compartment wall), a length of the 1/4" hose, a few 1/4" clamps, a 1/4" barbed coupling, some new spray foam, and the "exact size" drill bit to drill out the old bleedline fitting. Consult your local HotSpring dealer, preferably one of their techs, or we can send you what you need. If responding to my store use the following email, scarritt@snet.net and copy and paste what I just wrote you.
The best glue to use is TRANSITIONAL GLUE-ABS TO PVC. |

Re: 98 Sovereign Leaks
I thought I found a post saying you can fix it from the inside. Maybe it was a different leak. Ive tried searching but for some reason, I can't get anything to show up in the search. I pasted the exact phrase from a post and it still didnt find it. |

Re: 98 Sovereign Leaks
If you have water leaking around the drain-caps, 1st try the simple fix. New drain cap gaskets and new drain caps.
The motto bleed line can be fixed without getting into the wood or digging foam, but that water won't usually find it's way all the way to the drain caps. |

Re: 98 Sovereign Leaks
The seals took care of the drain caps. How can you fix the moto leak without tearing siding or foam? |
