| ARCTIC leaking thru 4everfloor, & water is inside cabinet |
We purchased our Arctic, about 15 months ago, and was promised by our dealer that they would NEVER quit selling them. They belived in them 100%, blah blah blah. Needless to say, less than a year later, they quit selling them. We have NO dealerships in our state. Our display has started flashing "FLO" and we are waiting for a local spa dealership to find time to come out and replace our motor. (Arctic has sent us a replacement motor).
Yesterday, we discovered water leaking under our deck, from directly under the center of our tub. Since there are no water lines, hoses, etc running under our deck....the water could only be coming from one place: our Arctic. You know, the one with the "forever floor" that will stand up to bugs, rodents, etc., and will never leak! Oh yeah, and the jets keep popping out.
We opened the cabinet, and found some standing water inside the unit, under the pump.
We feel like we have been thrown to the wolves. Our original dealer no longer sells Arctic's or works on them, our local pool/spa place has his own units he sells to work on, so he's in no hurry to fix our unit, and we aren't 'handy' people. We have an incredibly expensive tub that has problems.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what we should do, or why the dang thing is leaking? My husband really wants to believe in this tub, and this company. I just feel like we made a HUGE mistake.
Is it possible the humidity outside has caused the water inside the cabinet? It's been awfully hot here the past few days. I have no idea why water is dripping from under the tub though. That floor isn't supposed to leak...AT ALL. Any suggestions/advice/ideas? Please! |

With no dealer to look to...It's time to make waves at the next level. Your Manufacturer. This is the kind of thing that makes the whole industry look bad. Good luck to you. |

Hi, Tommy and Chris
I'm sorry to hear of your problems and I will do what I can to help. We stand behind our product and will do our best to ensure your complete satisfaction. I also apologize for the two-day wait - I got to this as soon as I got back to work this morning.
I've answered this in your other post http://spaforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&p=14312#p14312 and also sent you an email, so I won't repeat that here.
Humidity would not cause this. Just as a point of interest, the Forever Floor does contain a vermin-proof valve to allow water inside the spa to drain. Prior to 2006, that valve was in the center of the floor, but in later years the valve was moved to the side of the floor.
Get in touch following the instructions I gave you, and we'll help you out.
Tom

Thank you, Tom. It's good to know about the floor. That calmed me down quite a bit! " title="Very Happy" /> Now, if we can get the other kinks worked out, life will be good. I sent you an email.

How much time should I give the manufacturer to contact me, after I leave a message? We've telephoned and left a message, and have also emailed them. They haven't called, or e'd back. what do you recommend?
|
Hi, Tommy and Chris,
I represent the manufacturer and I contacted you within minutes of reading your message. I received a copy of your email and replied to it on September 3. I filed both your email and my response in a tracking ticket, and notified our warranty department within minutes. So to say "they haven't e'd back" is not quite accurate.
If you mean that you haven't yet heard from the warranty department, that's possible, but that doesn't mean things aren't being taken care of. The person you asked us to contact in Kentucky is not available; we have left a message and the Warranty dept is waiting to hear from him. Once they get things set up, you will probably hear directly from Sun Country when they call to make an appointment to do the service.
Today we are shutting down at noon because the power company has to do whatever it is they do to give us a better power supply. With no power, we will have no phone, fax, or email service for the rest of the afternoon. This may cause unavoidable delays. Sun Country has been notified of this shutdown and we're doing our best to get this taken care of before the power goes out.
Rest assured, you haven't been ignored or overlooked, and we are working to get you back into your spa.
Best Wishes Tom
UPDATE: We were able to contact the independent technician and authorize service for these folks before the power shutdown. We are now waiting to hear the outcome.
