| Best way to fix this leak and how do I get this jet out to clean it? |
This used tub is new to me and I just finally got everything working.
The only issue I have right now is, on 2 jets, the backside where the clear
silcon seals the white part. The water is slowly coming out from the outer edge of the sillcon. I CAN'T pull the silicon off with my fingers so, do I just reapply sealer over it and go a littler further out? or is there a better method that isn't to difficult?
Also how do I remove this jet? It doesn't move freely and I hear some grime in there when I spin it by hand. Wanted to clean it up.
The knurl spins then tightens, then the other way, just spins? Does it come out?
Thanks!

It's a peice of cake, you don't need azny replacement parts, but slapping more silicone won't fix it, you're gpoing to need to remove, clean, and re-silicone the jet-body and jet-wallfiting.
1st, remove the jet internal, just pry around the face of the jet on the inside of the tub (be carfeull not to get unbder the jet wall-fitting" The face of that jet will eventually pop-out abou 1/4", then you can grab it and unscrew it to see the jet wall-fitting.
To get an idea of the jet part you'll be unscrewing. Please note the jet-internal portion can be removed while the spa is still full of water, it has nothing to do with a leaky jet-body, you're removing it just so you can see the jet-wall-fitting that screws into the jet-body (The jet-body is in the 1st pic with blue arrows) I only mention this so it might help you in identifying parts, you will need to drain the spa to repair this leak!
Anyway, once the jet internal has been removes, simnply unscrew the jet wall-fitting from the jetbody. No need to cut any pipes. Once removed, inspect for cracks. If none are found, simply clean all the old parts, apply a liberal amount of silicone to wall-fitting and face of the jet-body, and screw it right back in. Clean up any msilicone mess quickly, it's much easier before it begins to cure. Once it's set, it's a real pain.
Hope that helps,
Good luck,

Big help!
Thanks!
BUT, how do you unscrew the wall fitting?
I have tried to put a straight piece of metal across the slots
it did budge, but the silcon is holding it and Im sliding off.
1 im going to end up scratching the tub, 2 I am wear the slots out
is there a tool or easier way?
Thanks again! |

Here are the 2 that need to come out and I am questioning what I need to remove them with, tool wise.
Thanks!

Try wiggling the jet body back and forth as well to help loosen it. If you have to cut the pipes to unscrew the jet-body, just a little more work, no biggie.
There is indeed a jet tool that will make this job much easier.
The tool will work with the slotted fitting, but the smaller one, use your imagination, some channel locks, and a rag to protect the shell |
