| Full Re-plumb 90's sovereign |
OK, I have a long weekend coming up and I'm about to embark on a no-holds-barred, full re-plumb of my 90s(?) Hot Springs Sovereign. Previous posts (like 3 years old now!) relate details:
Spa-Repair/Plumbing/Same-Hot-Springs-Leaks-Story-Except_2666.html
Spa-Repair/Plumbing/Guesstimate-Full-Flex-Replumb-Fitting-Replacement_3838.html
It's on its side, and about 80% dug out, all mechanicals removed, no flex removed yet (some damaged during de-foaming).
I never 100% pinpointed the leak, so, I'm thinking, the best course of action will be to just rip all the plumbing out (EVERYTHING!) and pretty much start from scratch.
Anyone dispute that proposed method? Have a better plan?
And anyone have any advice for making the new plumbing as bulletproof as possible? Are there any modifications I should consider while I'm in there?
Anyone have any advice on ways I might leak-check as I go, or at least before I refoam and put the tub down?
(I saved about 85% of the chunks, so I'll be stuffing those back in most spaces, then refoaming over to save (a LOT) on foam.)
This is a last-ditch shot at having a hot tub (been sitting there for about 3 years now!!!!). If this doesn't work out, I'm chainsawing the @#$^%$* thing!
Thanks for any help.
