Glue for flex piping

I need to glue some 2" flex. I did some searching on the site here and saw the advise about using the heavy body PVC cement for pipe. Would this glue also be OK for 2" flex? I checked my local stores and found the heavy body cement, but not the flex glue.

It's the same thing. Flex PVC cement isn't special.

Normal PVC flex is rated for normal pvc cement. Just be sure you use good clear cleaner on it prior to application of the cement.

Additionally if it's cold, the sure you either warm up the components, or let it sit for at least 24 hours prior to putting water in it.

Look for WELD-ON brand #795. Regular glue and primer will work, but this is specially formulated for glueing flexible pvc to rigid.

Yeah wish you could point out some stores that actually keep this in stock.

Doesn't every hot tub place like us stock it?

Where's your store? I'll drive over and pick some up.

Bristol Connecticut...would you like clear or purple primer to go with that?

Lol...

What would be good if all the outlets (home depot/lowes/ace/true value etc etc etc) that sell flex pipe would sell the good stuff to go along with it.

ON the street... and not have to order it online.

But this is commercial/jobber/oem grade cement, which isn't normally available thru retail channels unless someone makes a special effort.

What the heck all they gotta do is mark it up an additional 2 bucks to make it worth the shelf space and you never know. They might sell a lot more than they thought.

People like buying quality stuff if it costs more and does a better job - if they can see it and handle it on the shelf.

Otherwise it's pure virtual 'belief' system that has to come into play which takes a ton of testimonials and everything else to get the product moved from a warehouse (somewhere unseen in podunk)... to the customer's home and in the tub.

Next - what do they call those things on star trek? Replicators I think they are... yeah... that's it.

heh heh.
