| Hot Springs Vista - Mystery Heater Output Hose Connection? |
Hello,
I went to drain my hot tub today, and after opening the drain plug up, I noticed that water was trickling out of the control panel / pump access area. I knew that shouldn't be happening so I took the access panel off and found a small hose that Ts off of the large heater output hose which has come disconnected and is leaking water. I found what looks like a check valve lying in the immediate area. It seems like the check valve has broken a bit on both ends which allowed it to come free and bring the hose with it. I took a quick look around the compartment but I can't for the life of me find where the hose should hook up to! Can anyone help point out where this hose should be attached to?
Also, I would like to buy a new check valve - Is there a certain type that I should get to replace this one? I blew on both ends of it and when blowing against the 'flow' indicator, there was more resistance but I could still blow through it.. I assume that's bad but I'm not sure.
Attached images should hopefully tell the rest of the story! I appreciate any help you can give me!
Thanks, BlueSix |

Re: Hot Springs Vista - Mystery Heater Output Hose Connection?
That is the check valve in the ozonator line. That one that you have is notoriously bad. Get the new replacement, put it in and everything should be fine. The line should run from the injector valve (which is located in the heater return line), loops around somewhere up high in the equipment compartment, and runs into the freshwater ozonator in your tub. |

Re: Hot Springs Vista - Mystery Heater Output Hose Connection?
Thanks so much for your help! I'll check it out tomorrow. I'm looking for a replacement valve but many that I've found online look like the same one (blue/black plastic). Is there a certain one or site that you can recommend?
Thanks! BlueSix |

Go to your local HotSpring dealer - the new check valve is translucent white - they are only about 10 bucks.
