| Leak in the split nut union |
I just replaced the heater element and bought new o-ring. I threaded the old split nut union and got it real tight and snug. When the pumps are activated it drips water. Removed it and this time used liquid teflon tape, no worky again..frustrating..Balboa says they have a new replacement spilt nut, but seems hard to find. Balboa doesn't sell retail? Any suggestions? How about your local spa dealer? We carry a fits-all-oring/ gasket for 11/2" and 2". They were great for your exact situation. Or I'd remake the connection, check the alignment. You may need a new split nut too. They should only be hand tight--no wrenches. Maybe once the water gets hot it will stop...I've seen that work too. |

Split nut
Thanks for the advice, I got a hold of Emerald the manufacturer. The are going to send me $$ a new split nut and o-ring. They say the new o-ring will work better. I will attempt to align the hoses a little better. Thanks again. |
