Hello all:
I have a Cal spa fiesta series, that now has water leakage. In the winter of (06) the GFI kicked out, and low and behold the pump volute and surrounding PVC pieces had to be replaced from having cracked. The following summer of (07) there was minor water loss/seepage over the summer. I drained the tub for the winter of (07). Upon initial start/fill up in spring of (0 , there was considerable water leakage. I had the pump/jets running as I filled the tub thru the filter housing, but the next day while waiting for the tub to come up on temp, about 1/8 th of the water had drained out, and the concrete was wet.
Since then I have checked the jet's seals, they're good. Equipment compartment is dry ( there was water seepage at the initial fill up, between the framing and the gray plastic liner surrounding the compartment). I beleive this to be either a catch basin effect of the liner from my leak, or a bad gasket on the light, which is on the tub wall directly above the equipment compartment.
As for the real problem leak, I think I've tracked it down to a possible cracked water manifold from the (07) winter draining. Some residual water left in the manifold may have caused cracking. My thinking is that when I closed all the jets except for one bullet jet, and attached a garden hose on that open jet, water seeped out from under the tub directly below where the filter /skimmer housing is situated on the tub. I ran the hose into the skimmer/filter housing and ran it strong to maintain a good water level, but yet there was no further seepage. Seepage only occured when water is ran thru the jet line.
I've raised the tub up to get air movement for drying out the underside and to help in pin pointing a more accurate origin of seepage.
If my thinking is correct (not so too often), my dilema is such> Where is the water manifold located on a Cal spa Fiesta. The shell of this tub is covered with the spray on insulation, and I would like to know where the heart of this beast is before I do any surgery on it. Are there points I'm not seeing due to tunnel vision that may lead to another answer.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. It just so happens this side of the tub is along a fence, and the power entry point is at this panel. So it's a tight space, and extra work before I get to the meat and potatoes of this thing, IF I'm on the right path.
An extra set of eyebals/brains is greatly appreciated, and needed.
Take care and thanks in advance for any assists.
I really need to soak (my head that is)
