Mounting Pump: vertical to side discharge

Hi Guys.
I'm currently converting an old Tub to the new SpaPack style.
But to get everything to fit I need to mount the Pump sideways, so that it becomes a side discharge insted of a top discharge.
Will this work??

Cheers
Chris

Found this on Spa Depot.com...
"Note: By removing the thru-bolts, the Wet End may be rotated 360° for proper alignment with your spa's plumbing configuration. Be careful not to confuse the thru-bolts with the smaller screws used to hold the two halves of the Wet End together. The thru-bolts (which must be removed to rotate the Wet End) are located at the opposite end of the motor from the Wet End on most motors. Typically there are 4 thru-bolts"

Thus sounds like this will be fine...and comments.
Just an additional note mine is a center discharge pump..I'm thinking of upgrading to a side dischage eventually

The difference between a center and side discharge pump

The "normal" orientation for a pump is for the discharge to face up. This is true for both a center OR side discharge pump. Just because the pump wet end is rotated 90 degrees does not make it a "side discharge" pump (a common misconception) A side discharge pump, when looking at it in its Normal vertical orientation has the discharge slightly offset to the right (when looking at it straight on) A center discharge pump discharges in the middle... directly above the suction. Side discharge pumps often have slightly higher pump curves because the water can flow evenly straight up instead of making a turn to the center. http://spapartsnet.com/Pump-Parts/Wet-E... 1_0_1.html http://spapartsnet.com/Pump-Parts/Wet-E... 0_0_1.html

Right. I saw that my definitions where wrong...
So to properly word my question. I have a center discharge pump that discharges up.
I'm looking at rotating the Pump (or the wet end) to that my center discharge pump dischargers horizontally insted of vertically.

yes, that you can do. This is referred to as the orientation. Pumps discharging out the top is said to be in the 12 O'clock position, and to the sides being in either 9 O'clock or 3 O'clock. Many wet ends (pump housings) have 2 drain plugs, allowing for either mounting, and still providing a way to drain the wet end in winter, should you choose to do so.
