I have a wife with the same problem...wow...just a joke, I couldn't resist!!! LOL
Pumps either work or don't work, they don't usually 'lose' power.
1st... make sure the filter is clean. If not you may not have enough flow.
2nd...Did you just drain and fill it? If so, you could have an air-lock problem.
3rd...If there is some sort of skimmer door or similar device near the filter make sure it is operating properly (allowing enough water to flow into the filter area)
Usually jet problems are associated with things like this, not electrical problems...check your air levers, diverter levers...did something get sucked into the lines?...It happens occassionally. |

yes, I did just fill the tub and rewire the pump. One speed, Black, White, and green. I checked the lines and the filter is new. Could I have it wired wrong? |

Doubtfull. To be sure, you can always cxheck amp draw.
Does the motor sound normal?
Dan.the.spa.man is right on with his advice- almost always a flow issue. Could be as simple as closed or malfunctioning air flow controls.
Things can get sucked into the pump, if the pump sucks in air- it will have very little power, a 6HP pump is pretty big-if not plumbed properly, it can actually collapse flexible intake plumbing.
Are there any service valves that are shut (gate or ball)? Be sure they're all open.
Are there any leaks when the tub is not running?
You mentioned you just re-wired it. Why did you do so? |

I had to put in a new Hydro Quip control pack and the plug was pink instead of Purple. I do have a small drip leak on this pump. Could that be the problem? My pumps are below the water level, doesnt that mean they are self primed? How do I get rid of a air lock?
Thanks for the help? |

If it's moving water, any water- you don't have an air lock.
If it leaks when it's not running, and stops leaking when running, it's sucking in air, and will cavitate.
If it leaks when it's running, it won't affect the pressure. |
