| Pump problem |
My hot tub (a sundance montego) is having issues with the jets. Right now they will not turn on when I press the switch. Also when I press the air button I just hear a “click” nothing
However
If I turn the circuit breaker off for about 5 minutes and then go and turn it back on everything will work fine for 2-4minutes and then I am back to the same problem. I know it is getting power because the display is lit as well as the light on the control box.
I have tested the voltage when they were working and get 220 on all the relays on the bottom of the control board but when this happens I have zero readings at all the relays (Pump 1, Pump 2, ect)
Some one please help me.
One time I also lost power like I was saying and everything was dead and without doing anything the jets came back on " title="Shocked" /> |

It sounds to me like your breakers are tripping off that is why when you turn them off, and back on, it works (turning a breaker off and then back on resets them)... Why? You might have a bad pump, or perhaps the heater element is tied into the circut of the pump, is bad, and is tripping the breaker. |

Re: Pump problem
Yes, you are definitely having a short or a faulty breaker.Test your heater element for ohms they usually don't call for much more than 10 or 11 ohms depending on size but that's a rough idea.Could also be the pump(jet) unplug pump and see if breaker shuts off the unit. You can also check contiuity to ground at the pump motor plug, grd to each phase white, black, red if 240v and then continuity from one phase to each of the other ones.Should be no continuity to grd for any phase but you will find continuity between each of the phases, white to red,to black and red to white to black and black to white to red.Redundant but accurate. |
